Weekly 4e Homebrew: Ewok!

Every Sunday, I'll have a completely homebrewed Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition element that you can use in your games. I do take requests so you can either post a comment here, email me at thatrobedguy@hotmail.com with the subject "Homebrew Request", or send me a tweet on Twitter (@brannonhutchins) with the hashtag #weekly4e.

Well, I WAS going to continue the story with the cake and the tapeworm, but I completely blanked on where to go. And then my online gaming colleague, NewbieDM, put together a Star Wars hack of the AGE system. I have been bugging him about adding Ewoks to it, because I know how much they irritate him.

Consider this article the first of two to irritate the hell out of Newbie. I present to you: the Ewok. Buwahaha.

Ewok
Small, bear-like woodland creatures capable of taking down an empire.

Average Height: 3 '1"-3'5"
Average Weight: 105-115 lb.

Ability Scores: +2 Dexterity; +2 Wisdom or +2 Charisma
Size: Small
Speed: 5 squares
Vision: Low-light

Languages: Ewokese (speak only)
Skill Bonuses: +2 Nature, +2 Stealth
Primitive: Ewoks cannot wield Martial weapons without the use of a feat.
Scent: Ewoks have a keen sense of smell. They gain a +2 racial bonus to Perception checks involving smell.
Small: As a Small creature, Ewoks have restrictions in combat. See Essentials: Heroes of the Fallen Lands page 266 Halfling entry for the rules pertaining to the Small size category.
Weapon Familiarity: Ewoks gain a +2 racial attack bonus to weapons in the Spear category.
Sneak: You gain the sneak encounter utility power.

Sneak; Ewok Racial Utility
Ewoks are especially stealthy, making them exceedingly stealthy to the point that you might not even notice an entire army of them slowly surrounding you.
Encounter
No Action; Personal
Trigger: You make a Stealth check and dislike the result.
Effect: Reroll the Stealth check. Use the second roll, even if it's lower.

The Ewok is property of...I guess 20th Century Fox?...and was created for Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition by Wizards of the Coast.

  1. you cant take an immediate action on your own turn, which is when you will likely be making a stealth check. so you should switch the racial power to a no action.
