Weekly 4e Homebrew: The Colt

Every Sunday, I'll have a completely homebrewed Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition element that you can use in your games. I do take requests so you can either post a comment here, email me at thatrobedguy@hotmail.com with the subject "Homebrew Request", or send me a tweet on Twitter (@brannonhutchins) with the hashtag #weekly4e.

Inspired once again by the incredible, awesome, godsend of a show called Supernatural, this week's article introduces to 4th Edition that most powerful of all weapons, the Colt.
The Colt
"Back in 1835, when Haley's Comet was overhead, the same night those men died at the Alamo, they say Samuel Colt made a gun. A special gun."
Designer Notes: Fans of the Supernatural series will recognize this weapon right away. There was no way this was going to be anything other than an Epic level artifact. As far as the critical benefit is concerned, I think it captures the feel of the Colt, especially when paired with the first property. If you think it is a bit strong, try adding a save that renders the Critical benefit to an ordinary +5d6 damage.

Quick Note: The Mundane Immunity property is something I introduced with the Lingering Spirit from last week's Weekly 4e Homebrew article. Most monsters that would be inspired by the Supernatural television series would have something similar in the Traits section of their statistic block.

The Colt and the Colt Bolts were created using Power2ool for the Wizards of the Coast Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition system.
